Pets | i heart faces | Dallas Area Portrait Photographer

Do you want to play?

VBS is this week, so life is even crazier at my house than normal.  The theme is pets, but this isn't my pet.  We own a lovable white poodle named Charlie.  The right thing to do would be to get a good picture of him, but I just didn't get it done.  So, here is a picture that I took for a friend last summer.  My daughter was only one at the time, but she wasn't scared of this puppy OR their mastiff, who liked giving her kisses as she came down the slide!

I was honored when Ginger messaged me about taking some pictures of her adorable little girl.  She is an incredible art teacher (just ask Elyssa) and helped get our elementary school's DI teams started.  We were all sad to see her transfer to a different school, so it was great to see her again.  We decided to make this a "mini" session, since she will be sitting up soon.  I can't wait to do her six month session.  It is one of my absolute favorite ages to photograph!  Isn't she just a doll?

Both of this weekend's sessions had to be rescheduled for various reasons, so I have a little more time than I anticipated to finish processing all of last week's shoots. It also means that I have time to post something for this week's I HEART FACES challenge. This is just one of the gorgeous seniors I got to work with this year. Look closely so you don't miss her awesome manicure. The purple tips were done for prom, but complimented her outfit perfectly!

This is the 3rd year that I have taken Grant's birthday pictures.  Everytime I look at this year's 5 made out of cars I think back to the 3 written in chalk and can't believe how long it has been.  His tastes have changed a little, and he now has a sister to watch over, but one thing that hasn't changed is his amazing eyelashes!  Little sister Sarah has made quite a few appearances on the blog already.  Newborn, three month, six month...and now 9 months.  She is so smiley and talk about strong!  I do believe that she is going to be walking before our next session.  Days like this remind me of why it is I love my job so much.  What a blessing it is to watch so many beautiful children grow up and know that I have a part in recording their childhood memories.  :)

All About Babies | i heart faces | McKinney Portrait Photographer

This weeks theme at I HEART FACES is all about babies.  Even though I know there are  far superior images in my files, this picture had to be the one.  This, for those of you who don't know, is Mia.  She was our middle daughter and would be turning 4 in just a few weeks.  Mia was a perfectly healthy two month old until a simple virus turned into Viral Myocharditis and in a matter of hours she was rushed to an emergency room, care flighted to Children's, and then she was gone.  It was and is one of the most heart breaking moments in my life, but I am so thankful that God blessed me with such a beautiful and easy going little girl, even if it was only for a moment.  I love this picture, taken on my old Fuji 3 megapixel point and shoot and am so grateful for all of the people in my life who encouraged me to use my time wisely and develop the passion for photography that God has given me.  Now I am lucky enough to get to photograph babies on a regular basis and I still love it as much today as I did then!

Baby Blues | North Dallas Baby Photographer

This baby girl's mom had it right when she told me how blue her eyes were.  Of course, she was also right about a short window of opportunity before the morning nap!  Thankfully, we were able to get plenty of shots in while she was still happy.  I am so glad that we were able to find a time to work you in, Melanie.  Enjoy your preview!

Gillock Family | Dallas Fort Worth Family Photography

Yesterday was a busy day... I had two early morning sessions, church, a friend's birthday party, and another friend's graduation party.  Whew!  Here is a preview from one of yesterday's sessions.  Don't they have beautiful kids?  It was a true pleasure to work with you all yesterday.  Thanks for making the drive!

Happy Birthday, Indigo! | Dallas Birthday Photography

This little beauty had a blast at her party....and who could blame her!  It was definitely a party fit for a princess.  I absolutely loved all of the blue.  Even The Little Gym decor seemed to have been brought in just for this event.  I couldn't resist the urge to give them all a slightely blue feel, but they were so cute with the vivid colors, that I had a hard time deciding which to post.  As usual, the enhanced version won out.  Birthday parties are one of my true loves, so I loved every minute of this shoot.  Having four generations there made it even better.  It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.  Thanks for "inviting" me!!!

A Step Back in Time | Texas Family Photography

When Kelly contacted me to see if I was going to be doing any shoots in the Amarillo area and mentioned that she had discovered a great location, I jumped at the chance to plan a trip back home.  The week leading up to our session was a blessing.  I got to spend days doing little more than reading and driving to Sonic for happy hour.  My parents pamper me way more than I deserve!  They also spoil my girls rotten!!!
Well...Kelly was right about a neat location.  The old railroad museum had so many interesting things to see and the owner was full of information.  As you can see, she also has great taste in little girl's clothes.  Every outfit was simply adorable!

Austin | Frisco Senior Photography

I have officially decided that I love senior sessions...not that there was ever really any doubt :) Every type of session is completely different, but awesome in their own way. Seniors do whatever you ask and have at least some idea of what they are looking for from a session. This senior will be heading off to Texas Tech soon. After an exceptionally hot day, we were all surprised at what a nice evening it turned out to be. Thanks, Austin, for being such a good sport about being dragged around the alleys and roofs of downtown McKinney. Cristi, I am so glad to have had the chance to truly "meet" you and I can't wait to meet the rest of your family!
